After securing three Enduro World Series crowns last season, Michelin will sponsor an exciting program of downhill events in 2019 in association with team MS Mondraker, based in Alicante, Spain. The team’s lineup includes Laurie Greenland, who collected four podium finishes in 2018, and Brook MacDonald, who finished third in two World Cup rounds.

“Downhill mountain bike racing punishes athletes and equipment without mercy or bias,” said Shane Messner, Michelin director of two-wheel for North America. “The extreme force both must endure offers an ideal laboratory for Michelin to test and develop tire innovations for new consumer products expected to launch in 2020. Downhill racing allows us to refine grip, strength and agility for the many types of rapidly shifting terrains the downhill rider must conquer.”
